ON THE MARKETPLACES
During markets, we display our activities and handicrafted goods related to History : silver, bronze and enamel jewellery (viking-inspired pieces and replicas mainly), glass beads, horn- or woodware, home-tanned furs (from animals exclusively raised for their meat in a local respectful environment), fabric creations (tablet-woven bands, nålbindning, historical outfit accessories).
You may also see us at work in the tent, on occasion.
THE STAND
Our exhibition material is comprised of a viking tent, based off the finds in Oseberg and Gokstad, with crossed wooden poles and a linen cloth. Its floor area is 4.5 m x 3 m, and we also have wooden furniture and displays.
We highly value having as few modern elements as possible, so as to maintain an immersive viking feeling all around, both for our visitors and for us.
COSTUMES
It goes without saying that we attend the markets in full period costumes, entirely hand-sewn, with techniques and materials used back then. All our equipment and accessories are also born of our research and handicraft.
A LONG-LASTING ADVENTURE
Our first market was way back in Wolin, 2004, debuting this adventure under the banner of our reenactment group Autour de Fenrir. Ever since, we have pitched our tent in various countries (Denmark, Norway, France, Belgium) and we are now regrouping our activities back in Switzerland.
